Some tir’a common words –
messu: Master. This can apply to anyone who has achieved mastery of a subject. Most commonly doctors, priests, sages and historians. Related terms: sa’messu literally a seeker of mastery. A student.
sa: seeker
hala: An informal, friendly word used for both greeting and parting. It literally means “love”. Only used between members of a family or very close friends.
as: A prayer.
nhat: One form of the word meaning dead, or death.
ka: To eat. Ka’nhat or “eaters of the dead”, is the tir’a name for the large indigenous predator/scavenger found on Rogue.

The following words are in the courtly tongue and part of the tir’a religious ceremony that sanctifies the “Avenger of Blood”, a tir’a seeking revenge for a killing in his/her family.
l’horur Va’Annu: Literally, “Go with God’s Blessing.” a more formal parting than halla. Generally used in the context of a religious ceremony or at court.
l’hikes: I bid. I empower. I command. I make you.
soh: You. All of you (when addressing a group)
x’ks: One of many tir’a words meaning, “to kill”. Specifically it means the act of bringing just death to one’s enemies.
da’oth: The avenger of blood. A title given to one who has been ritually purified and sanctified to seek vengeance for the unjust death of a family member or members.
ana’el: Just, justice, or vengeance. The tir’a make no linguistic distinction between vengeance and justice.
n’thrack: Angel, messenger of god.
bessu: Sanctified or sanctifying. Blessed.
non’on: Warrior, soldier, fighter, or predator.
f’tulh: Son/daughter or child of.
Ca: Go.
oth: Blood, both in the sense of the liquid that flows in our veins and in terms of blood relation or kin.
Da: To seek justice or to right some wrong. Also seeking vengeance.
