Echodi
Biology
The echodi are a large marsupial with a light stripped or spotted fur. The come from a dark cold world and have adapted with large eyes and internal processes for regulating their loss of body heat. Their feet and legs are built for jumping and are digitigrade. They also have an excellent sense of smell and seem to communicate using a combination of both sound and scent secretions. They also have large disk-shaped ears that are capable of independent movement o focus on small sounds.
Culture
The echodi are shy peaceful vegetarians and are distrustful of strangers. Their society is largely farmer/gatherer. Their diet mainly consists of nuts and berries supplemented by milk and cheese from their domesticated animals. They are currently under the guardianship of the Federation and trade with or exploration of their homeworld is strictly controlled.
