That's the plan. What you see, what you hear, are really filtered through O'Donal's psyche. You'll get more of that feeling as we progress and we see O'Donal descend further into his own flavor of madness. It should prove interesting.

I really enjoy this series. It seems to get more invested into the psyche of O' Donal.

Comment on Why DC/Marvel’s $2.99 Pricing is Bad for the Fans by Cliff

You know... you actually make a couple of good point while missing a HUGE point. The webcomics on this site (and most sites like it) are FREE... not $1.99.. not even 99¢... not even the 12¢ I remember when I was a kid. FREE. That's the alternative. Offer a free version and a paid version... or multiple paid versions on a sliding scale in different distribution forms. Free online, $1.99 for digital downloads for devices like iPads, and $3.99 for print editions.

Also, you might have missed it, but not very long after announcing the price drop, DC also announced they were cutting back creator's royalties. So the savings to make possible the price cut isn't coming out of the Warner corporate coffers... oh, no. It's coming out of the pockets of the people who actually do the creative work. The people most directly responsible for making the comics in the first place.

So, essentially we need to raise comics back up to $3.99. Then $4.99. Then $5.99.

It seems that since 1992, comic books have moved on from appealing to children and people of all ages, but more towards seeing just how much they can screw over the diehard fan that buys over 80 comic books per month. Well, those fanboys that blow almost $10,000 a year on your overpriced 5 minute reads decided that Marvel had pushed them around long enough by constantly raising their titles to $3.99.

We've hit a ceiling for Marvel and DC Comics that the fools you milk dry by squeezing thousands of dollars out of their man-tits for the last two decades, and that is $2.99.

It'd be nice if you would at least make an attempt to get back your casual fans by offering a 2nd option for comic buyers: cheaper paper, cheaper price. There's very few comics out there that are worth more than $1.50 of my money or anyone's money, and we don't give a s*it about collector's value or gloss. We just want to read a story.

As much as you keep crying that $2.99 is going to hurt the industry, you should know this industry was doomed a long time ago when you told all your casual readers to go f*ck themselves so that you could only market towards the manchildren addicted to comics with deep wallets or psychological issues. They're the only people keeping the industry afloat right now, and Marvel pissed them off, forcing the price ceiling down. These same fans accept an indy publisher still selling at $3.99, because that's just how it's always been. Marvel, however, was raising their price out of greed, plain and simple.

I hadn't bought comics in 7 years after Marvel hiked all their comics up from $2.25 to $2.99, but in support of DC defying Marvel's greed and remaining at $2.99 (let's see how long that'll last), I preordered about 20 of their titles this month for roughly $1.80 each. The only $3.99 titles I bought were from companies like BOOM Studios or IDW.

No 22 page comic (don't pretend like it's 32) from Marvel or DC should be more than $2.00, period. You sealed your own fate a long time ago. Just look at those sales numbers you're giving us. Completely pitiful numbers compared to decades past.

i'm stumbled across your comic while taking a trip across Facebook, (which is awesome BTW). now that i found you, "I WILL" be buying a copy. on another note i feel you on the struggle. Webcomics do not give off "instant" monetary compensation, but you have shown here a lot of hard work does "pay" off. keep up the great work, because if it wasn't for the web, i wouldn't even know you existed.
another fan..

peace out

I went with that look and feel initially, but the licensor didn't care for it (with the same comment) so I'm changing the layout. Hope to have the new version up this weekend.

Thanks. I wanted it to have the kind of flow that real action would have. A little chaotic even, like in a real fight, how everything flows together and happens very quickly. Definitely one of my favorite pages I've done so far.
