Written & Lettered by Clifford VanMeter. Artwork by Joe Querio
From “The Hammonds of Ore City: Deconstructing a Dynasty” by Cyril Linkus, Stanford University Press – There is little doubt that the Hammonds saved the mines from closure and saved the livelihoods of thousands of Ore City citizens. That they did this with ruthlessness, brutality, torture and slavery is equally unquestioned.
Cliff, the dialogue (along with the art of course) is what keeps me coming back every week.
This is truly a fun read, start to finish, and each page extremely well thought out. Thumb still way up here.
Thanks, Ron. That’s an especially nice compliment coming from another writer. As my wife will attest, I spend a lot of time on the dialogue. She often has to listen to me sound out sections, and go back and forth on variations. Then I go through it a second time since I’m lettering — that’s where I do most of my editing.
