Arctospedia is a universe factbook that includes information on much of the background universe in which Orion the Hunter and the upcoming Belter operate. You might have noticed links in some of the text blocks that sit above the Orion the Hunter pages. These link allows the readers to dig deeper, picking out back-story elements in a new way. In many cases at a level of detail that I never intend to fully explain in the story itself.
Our goal is to create a rich environment, a kind of science fiction sandbox, that others can come and play in with us by letting the visitors to the site contribute and edit the Arctospedia in a Wiki-style format.
To get permission to edit or add to the wiki you just have to be a registered user and contact us to ask to be made a wiki-editor. Realize that your changes are also subject to being changed by others. Everything is subject to the editorial discretion of myself and Betsy as the administrators of the project. The individual with the most approved contributions in a given month will get a free t-shirt.

Question about making a site, actually two questions. I would like to start my own website about anime but am not sure where to start.
Should I make a blog or a site? It seems blogs are an easy to use content management system but have limitations. If I create a site with individual pages that looks like more difficult work.
Anyone create their own anime website and what system did you use?
Secondly I want to use pictures in my posts but am worried about copying issues, can I just copy or maybe point to a picture? Do the anime sites care?
thanks
WordPress, which is the engine for this site is a great way to go. There is really less and less difference between a site and a blog. I consider this a site, more than a blog and I build sites for people all the time using WordPress which is ostensibly a blog engine. As far as pictures go, (and remember I’m not a lawyer — I have a soul) — Yes you are violating their copyright if you use pictures that you haven’t created, even if you use pictures you created if they are of copy-written characters. However, many sites do use images and many content owners don’t mind because of the promotional value. You just have to understand that you are taking your chances if you use copy-written material without permission.
